Find the right vitamin or mineral
Start with what you want to cover. A multivitamin covers many nutrients in one tablet. Single products give a larger amount of one nutrient.
- Single vitamins: vitamin D, vitamin C, biotin and more in single vitamins.
- Minerals: calcium and ZMA (zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6).
- Fats: fish oil and other omega fats.
- Other: antioxidants and collagen.
Reading the label
Compare the amount of each nutrient per serving with the daily value shown on the pack, and check whether one serving is one or two tablets. If you take medicine or more than one supplement, check with your doctor that the totals are right for you.

What is ZMA?
A mineral formula of zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6, usually taken in the evening.
Should I take vitamins with food?
Many labels suggest taking them with a meal. Follow the directions on each product.
