Everyone knows that the best way to lose weight is through a healthy diet and adequate exercise. Calories ingested and calories burned are the two main components in the ideal equation. Something that not everyone knows is that vitamins and extracts may aid in the battle of the bulge, as well. People are starting to talk about the benefits of adding cayenne pepper, L-Glutamine and cinnamon extract to their regime.

Cayenne pepper is a spicy red dried vegetable which has been used to flavor dishes for years. Cayenne pepper has medicinal properties, too. Not only has it been shown to clear out arteries and help with heart disease, it also helps with stomach and intestinal tract issues. This spice actually helps to regenerate new tissue in the stomach lining which is a big help for ulcer sufferers.

The way it helps with weight loss is that it aids in digestion. The more properly food is digested and eliminated, the more successful the weight loss will be. The pepper also helps to stimulate saliva which naturally has the effect of slowing down the eating process, thus allowing one’s stomach more time to reach the feeling of fullness which is also the message to stop eating.

L-Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid or protein. This substance has been found to be successful in fighting addictions and craving. It was found to be especially helpful in reducing the craving of sugary and sweetened treats.

Cinnamon has been a popular spice in the baking of oatmeal cookies, banana bread and other delectable foods. Cinnamon smells and tastes quite delicious. This brown spice comes from the bark of certain East Indian trees. Not only is it tasty, it is helpful medicinally, as well.

This humble substance has been shown to lower cholesterol, blood sugar levels, and to even help with diabetes. As an extra perk, cinnamon has been shown to make a person feel more alert and less depressed which is always a good thing when one is trying to lose mass.

So, yes, stay on that healthy, low fat diet packed with fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. Continue to take a daily walk or go to the gym for an aerobics class. Both of these tried and true methods will go a long way toward successful weight loss. But while you’re at it, consider adding the benefits of cayenne pepper, L-Glutamine and the extract of cinnamon to your weight loss game plan, as well.
