Adding Kefir to Tart Cherry Concentrate

Adding Kefir to Tart Cherry Concentrate

Tart cherry concentrate has been used in my household for over 6 months now, and I have usually used it along with a few frozen tart cherries I was able to find at a local food store. With it being winter now, it can become harder to find fresh cherries, although I have also found them at the grocery store recently, and they actually came from the country of Chile.

Recently my wife Dea, introduced me to another natural product that also peaked my interest. She remembered growing up with a dairy product called ” Kefir “, a drinkable milk derivative. Basically tastes somewhat between yogurt and buttermilk. It also contained many healthy features so I decide to also add it to my daily regimen of super-foods to help me in fighting disease and to keep me generally healthy. For instance, we make a protein drink each morning in the blender, that consists of the following;

– one banana

– eight frozen tart cherries

– two scoops of powdered whey protein

– tablespoon of tart cherry concentrate

– 2 cups of no-pulp orange juice

– 1/4 cup of kefir dairy product.

It tastes great with almost no taste coming from the kefir. We do this daily so that we start the day off on a good note, where normally we would have skipped breakfast. Not something I would recommend as, that can be the most important meal of the day.

Kefir is easily digested and promotes a healthy immune system. It is generally a beneficial bacteria that cleanses the intestines and can have a calming effect on the nervous system.
